Father's Day - Austin Family Photos

I am so STOKED! I was able to get more candid photos of my dad in the few hours he was over than … well, EVER! The kids love Grandpa and I am sure you can see that he loves them too :)

We had a good time. I tossed a couple rib steaks (that's how they were labeled from the butcher) on the grill after prepping them simply. I covered them in coarse-ground himilayan salt while they thawed out to room temperature. Once they were nice and thaw, I rubbed in some olive oil and topped them with fresh-ground pepper. They turned out really tasty! Afterwards, we hung out watching last night's UFC event on the xbox.

I am so happy to have had this time with my dad. Even though we are a few minutes away from each other, our live's keep us pretty busy. I try to see him a few times a week but having a concentrated few hours together really makes me happy. It's important to have simple, normal time with my family. Hanging out, playing jiu jitsu, tickling, eating and just enjoying each other… plus, it is a great opportunity for me to get some more family photography!

Happy Father's Day - Some of my family photos

It is not that easy to get a photo of my dad - he is illusive and IF you can get one, it usually involved him replacing his face with a LARGE birdie finger :)  Here is one of him goofing with Grace when we moved to Austin back in March, I was able to sneak this one in because she had him otherwise occupied!

My dad has been a strong example in my life.  He has always been supportive of me.  He has always given me a reason to keep pushing for better in my life.  He is an accomplished businessman and sales person and has motivated me over time to be my best in both of those areas too. I remember him telling me once when I was a teenager, as encouragement; "You messed up!  You already showed me you have potential...  you have life by the balls, all you need to do is squeeze!"  He has always lead by example.  I have seen him build up a business only to watch it ultimately fail...  and seen him build up again and again since!  He is a living example to me that you can ONLY really succeed through failing forward.

I am also happy to be a dad and stand as an example for my family.  I look forward to seeing my children grow and mature into the people they are destined to be. This year Heather and I will welcome Joy Marie and bring the FINAL total Pesh Family count to 6.  Hare are some special moments of the past year in our family, I am happy to share this photography with you!wpid5591-Austin-Senior-Portraits-20121210-01.jpg

Mikey's First Day of Soccer - Family day out in Austin/Round Rock

I am happy to have been around to photograph another FIRST for our family. Mikey set out to the soccer pitch today to learn some skills. Like any other 2 year old, his attention span was about as long as normal - maybe 2 minutes - but he seemed to have a lot of fun when he was engaged! Heather had to chase him down at one point and he had his little baggy of cereal with him to start but in the end, he had a blast!

It is moments like this that I am so happy to have been blessed with the skills for photography, so that I can make keepsakes of our family, from the normal to the extraordinary!

Please reach out to me to photograph your family, with the love and attention I put into my family photography, imagine what I can capture of your family!

Here is a video of the photos for you:

Burgers from ONE cow - Austin Family Photography

If you are like me and my family, you mainly get your beef from the grocery store. And from time to time , like us, you'll grill up some burgers. Well, today was something unique for us. We have been on a food-related documentary movie mission over the past year or so and one thing that stuck out to me in the movie Food Inc. was that a typical package of ground beef could come from up to a HUNDRED different cows! Not long ago, my dad too his two cows to the butcher and now, we had to buy a freezer to contin the bounty! Tonight, we had our first BBQ with some of the meat and I have to say, it was good. Very lean, tasty and what FELT the best is that we knew how the animal was treated and fed. The coolest part is that we ate the ground beef from only ONE cow.

Nothing fancy, just some onion soup mixed in and topped with colby jack cheese, YUMM! Everyone loved them! - Pesh
